Lecture Summary: The lecture will first go over the importance and benefit of nipple sparing mastectomies and the historical guidelines and indications. I'd then like to review the most recent literature regarding the safety of nipple sparing mastectomy in various patient populations (cancer location and types, BRCA1/2 mutation carriers) as well as the expanded indications (larger breast sizes, ptotic breasts). Finally the lecture will conclude with technical aspects of a successful nipple sparing mastectomy including incision placement, tips and tricks, tools for success.
