Jenny R. Speranza, MD, FACS, FACRS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, New York. Dr. Speranza attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She did her General Surgery Residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Speranza completed her Colon and Rectal Fellowship at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. She then went on to complete a Clinical Associate year at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is double boarded in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Speranza has been practicing Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Rochester for the last 14 years. She enjoys teaching medical students, general surgery residents and is part of the core faculty that train the Colon and Rectal Sugery ACGME accreditied Fellow. She is on the Clinical Compentency Committee of the General Surgery Residency Program and is the Faculty Liason to the medical students and general surgery residents for Colon and Rectal Surgery.
She is the Director of the Colorectal Physiology Program in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Co Director of the Adult Pelvic Health and Continence Center at the University of Rochester. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Speranza is Vice Chair of the Professional Outreach Committee of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She also a member of the Pelvic Floor Consortium of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
