Lecture Summary: This lecture will focus on how osteopathic principles and practice intersect with the care of the traumatically-injured patient. The lecture will also address opportunities to use osteopathic manipulative treatment as part of the acute and ongoing care of victims of trauma. The lecture will draw from varying sources, including the available scientific literature, the speaker's own experience and osteopaths who specialize in the manual treatment of trauma, including Jean-Pierre Barral. The speaker will also address opportunities for professional collaboration on projects pertaining to osteopathic manipulative treatment and the care of trauma surgical patients.
