Dr Ditillo did his undergraduate education at Long Island University. He did his general surgery training at the Brookdale University Medical Center in Brooklyn NY. He then went on to do a fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. He began his career as an assistant professor of surgery at Yale University. He then moved on to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where he served as the Surical ICU Director, Associate program director for the Surgical Critical Care fellowship and assistant residency director for the general surgery residency, He is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona, where he is the director of Geriatric Trauma, Critical Care, Acute Care Surgery and Burn, as well as the director of the general surgery clerkship and director of education for the division of trauma. His research interest include geriatric trauma outcomes, qauality improvement in the ICU, therapeutic hypothermia, delirium, and surgical education.
